It started with a dream..
girls vintage style dressing for your special girl.
"Since I was a very young child, I have always wanted to be in the fashion industry. I loved to play dress-up and my mom would often find me dressed in her clothes and wearing her heels.
Throughout my life, I have always given my all to everything that I have set my mind to. This all paid off when I was accepted to Savannah College of Art and Design with scholarship. I graduated with my Bachelor of Design Degree and a couple of weeks after graduation, I was offered a job in New York City! I packed my bags and moved to New York. I didn’t even know where I was going to live, but I was a about to start my dream career and like everything else in my life, nothing was going to stop me.
I loved working in New York! It was like a dream come true. However, it was very stressful and the cost of living was ridiculous. My checking account was just a brief pit stop for my paychecks and my savings account was non-existent. I spoke to my family and decided to move home and work with my parents. My mother had a small business called Linni Sisters, it is a high-end needlepoint pillow company. She sold her gorgeously designed pillows to vintage boutiques. I thought I’d follow in their steps but with clothing. I had a few design ideas for little girls clothing and was able to turn the ideas into actual garments. They sold out immediately and orders started pouring in. That’s when things really started happening.
The name ML Fashions comes from my Chinese name, Meng Lin. Meng stands for dream in Chinese (夢) so I though how perfect would it be to have that as part of the company name, and ML Fashions was born. My parents supported me in every way possible, from financial to moral support and even investing some sweat equity. I couldn’t have done this without them.
Today, ML Fashions is being sold in over 400 stores throughout the US and we are rapidly growing. Thank you to all the wonderful boutique owners, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and etc who loves our line. I hope you’ll continue to love and support us going forward. After all, if it was not for your support, there would not be a story to write."
Sincerely,
